Manitoba First Nation community files water-related lawsuit against Winnipeg, feds
Years without drinking water and road access leads to 'injurious affection claim'

Winnipeg – An “injurious affection claim” has been launched against the City of Winnipeg and the federal government by a First Nations community over a long-standing water matter. Shoal Lake 40 is seeking compensation for the impacts of the Winnipeg aqueduct it claims has left the community isolated for more than a century. In a news release, Chief Kevin Redsky said: “With no access to clean water, the community remained under a boil water advisory – the second longest boil water advisory in Canada.” APTN National News report | READ MORE
